For the purposes of the Initiative, a special interdisciplinary team has been set up at EKT.
This group co-operates and is supported by EKT’s personnel experienced in the fields of communication, documentation and information systems, thus exploiting the infrastructure, networks and the institutional status of EKT in Greece and Europe.
Ioanna is a graduate of the Athens Law School, holds a Master’s degree in European Law from Leiden University and is a former researcher at the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence at NKUA. She has been practising law since 2013, handling cases in various branches of law, while in the past she worked in the European Commission, gaining valuable experience in the production and implementation of European laws and policies. She is a member of the national register of Erasmus + / Youth Instructors, while she has participated in European Conferences as a representative of the country’s youth.
Konstantina is a graduate of the Department of International and European Studies of the Panteion University and holds a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Marketing and Communication from the Athens University of Economics and Business. She has many years of work experience in corporate communication and in the management of European and national programs with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation.
She has been an organizing member in numerous programs promoting youth entrepreneurship and innovation. Since February 2019, she has supported the development, provision and promotion of the services of the ‘Knowledge and Partnership Bridges’ initiative at EKT.
With a PhD in Humanities, Nancy has intense interdisciplinary research experience. She started working on the Ιnitiative based on her experience both in research methodology and in different collaborative environments, as well as the understanding of the activities of highly qualified young people.
She is active in issues concerning the development of young scientists and the conditions of research in the Greek context. As part of the Initiative, she deals with the research background of the ecosystem, the creation of networks with Greeks living and working abroad, while proposing actions based on the needs arising from all that the above entails.
Nikos is in charge of EKT’s Documentation Unit of Innovation. He is a Special Functions Scientist Level B and is active in the systematic capture, monitoring, and study of aspects of the Greek innovation system at national, regional, branch and sectoral level, implementing a series of research topics of high public interest.
Margaritis has a degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Environmental Physics. He is the Head of EKT’s Publicity and Communication Department, responsible for corporate communication, content development & management of websites, print & electronic publications, events, digital communication actions and social media. He is the editor of the magazine ‘Innovation, Research &Digital Economy’. He has many years of experience in implementing communication and publicity actions in the context of national & European projects. He has been the head of the Greek node of CORDIS and a research associate at the Department of Physics of the University of Athens, and has collaborated with popular science journals.
Galatios is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Patras and holds a master’s degree from the Department of Statistics and Insurance Science of the University of Piraeus in applied statistics. He has 12 years of work experience in Greece and Scandinavia in the application of statistical methods, in the creation and management of databases, in the analysis and visualisation of data. He speaks 6 languages. Since February 2018, he has been working at EKT as head of statistical analysis and results as well as administrator of EKT statistical databases and is responsible for their interconnection with other internal or external registers.
Angelos works at EKT as head of co-ordination and implementation of actions of EEN Hellas and several other projects implemented by the organisation besides fulfilling the role of National Contact Point. He is also a certified digital innovation management evaluator from the Improve Academy.
His professional career includes a 25-year presence in positions of responsibility in the financial department of construction companies in Greece and abroad. During his career, in addition to financial management, he has been involved in managing a large number of employees in various situations and has completed projects related to the establishment and operation of new companies inside and outside the country. He holds a postgraduate degree in Finance and a degree in Business Administration.
Henry has been with EKT since 2000. He has been the National Contact Point for the Social Sciences and Humanities in Greece for 18 years throughout the 6th Framework Programme, the 7th Framework Programme and Horizon 2020. At that time, he also managed the participation of EKT in more than 20 European projects (FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020, Erasmus). He has also supported the EKT’s innovation team in preparing client profiles for the Innovation Relay Centre and the EEN. He completed his studies in Mathematics.
George is an innovation and green digital transition consultant at EKT. Since 2016, he has been the National Contact Point for ICT and FET/EIC in Horizon 2020 and now is an NCP for Horizon Europe – co-ordinator of Cluster 4 (Digital, Industry, Space). For the last 5 years he has been co-ordinating the EIT Health HUB for Greece, the most important European accelerator of startup and student support in the field of health. He is a member of EEN, the largest support network for international business and research collaborations in the world, having had many successful collaborations. He is also a European project manager and a member of the Europe an Commission’s Digital Innovation Nodes team. He has worked in the private sector as a consultant for co-financed development programmes (NSRF, Rural Development-Leader) and other European programmes (H2020, Life, EEA grants, etc.).
Barbara is an economist specializing in sustainable development, green entrepreneurship and innovation, with experience in all stages of international project management, both in corporate environments and with international organizations. She has work experience in sustainable development, policy analysis and gender equality in countries of the MAΒA region and has worked in more than 4 countries in multicultural environments.
Since 2018, as an innovation consultant at EKT, she has been supporting companies and organisations in their transition to a Circular and Digital Economy. She works as a National Contact Point for European framework programmes and participates as a member of sectoral expert groups in Agri-Food and Tourism & Cultural Heritage.
Giannis studied photography at the Leica Academy and the New York Institute of Photography, graphic arts at the Petra School and is a graduate of the Hellenic Open University in
‘Studies in Greek Culture’.
He has been a professional photographer since 1997. Since 2005, he has been working in the digitisation department of EKT. Besides taking part in several exhibitions as a member of a variety of groups, he has had 5 personal exhibitions. He has also curated photo exhibitions and publications. In recent years he has been teaching photography in private schools.
Giannis studied Computer Graphics & Computer Animation at the ‘OMEGA’ schools, continuing his studies at Staffordshire University in the Department of Design: Animation, where he completed his Bachelor. He then attended and completed a postgraduate Fine Art course at the same University. He has worked as a Graphic Designer at Ashley & Holmes and has worked in the Post Production department at Central Athens Film Productions. As a freelancer he has created over 100 short videos and has taken part in video recordings in more than 200 events (Sports Games, Social Events and Anniversaries). He has been is part of EKT’s staff since 2009.
